Dr. Deirdre Craven, the Lead Veterinarian at Care First Animal Hospital at Tryon, is a dedicated and compassionate professional committed to providing the highest quality care for pets. Her journey in the veterinary field has been a testament to her passion for animals and commitment to their well-being.
After graduating from college, Dr. Craven took her first steps into the world of veterinary care by joining Care First Animal Hospital as a technician. Eager to deepen her knowledge and skills, she pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian by attending Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine from 2014 to 2018. Upon completing her studies, Dr. Craven returned to Care First Animal Hospital, this time as a doctor, where she has been making a positive impact on the lives of countless furry companions and their families.
Choosing veterinary medicine as her profession was a natural fit for Dr. Craven, driven by her love for problem-solving and her deep connection with animals of all kinds. Her favorite aspects of the job include performing surgeries, working up medicine cases, and the constant learning opportunities presented by her patients. Witnessing the joy and relief in families when their beloved pets recover is what truly fuels her dedication to veterinary care.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Craven engages in a variety of hobbies and interests. Whether she's running, hiking, backpacking, skiing, gardening, or spending quality time with her family and her dog, Chad, she brings the same passion and enthusiasm to her personal life as she does to her veterinary practice.
Dr. Deirdre Craven's educational background includes earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Her work history in the veterinary field has been exclusively with Care First Animal Hospital, where she holds the position of Veterinarian since 2018. With her extensive knowledge, genuine love for animals, and commitment to continuous learning, Dr. Craven creates an environment at Care First Animal Hospital where pet owners can feel at ease knowing their furry family members are in expert and caring hands.
