Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist
Dr. Britt has always had a passion for animals and knew early on that veterinary medicine was her calling. Her journey began as a research associate in both medical and veterinary research, working with a pre-clinical oncology research company and a startup focused on mastitis diagnostics for dairy farmers. Additionally, she gained invaluable hands-on experience as a veterinary assistant in a small animal rehabilitation clinic. After graduating from the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she completed her clinical year at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, she dove into the field with enthusiasm.
Once Dr. Britt earned her DVM, she chose to specialize in sports medicine and rehabilitation, a field that allows her to bridge her love for animals with her desire to enhance their quality of life. Her experience spans private practice and academia, where she has made significant contributions as a sports medicine specialist.
What drives Dr. Britt in her profession is the honor of being an integral part of the human-animal bond. She loves educating clients to empower them in caring for their pets, fostering deeper connections between them.
Her favorite part of the job involves the challenge of diagnosing elusive conditions. Whether it’s a sporting dog that isn’t quite hitting their marks or a senior pet needing assistance, she finds joy in figuring out the underlying issues and developing effective treatment plans. Dr. Britt has a particular soft spot for senior dogs, striving to help them age gracefully and maintain mobility—after all, mobility is life!
Outside of her practice, Dr. Britt enjoys cooking, baking, and traveling, especially cherishing time spent with her family, which includes her son, husband, two dogs, and two cats. She also tends to a variety of semi-feral outdoor cats. A fan of the holidays and Walt Disney World, she makes the most of her time away from work.
Dr. Britt is a board-certified Rehabilitation Specialist by the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute.
