Lead Veterinarian

Dr. Page Wages is the Lead Veterinarian at Care First Animal Hospital's Oberlin location. Dr. Wages attended undergraduate school at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Afterwards, she attended North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  Additionally, Dr. Wages earned a Master's of Arts in Executive Leadership from Liberty University in 2016 and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Lawrence University in 2001 with honors and recognition on the Dean's list.

Her journey in veterinary medicine has been intertwined with the growth of Care First Animal Hospital, as Dr. Wages started working at Care First during her veterinary school years, and has continued her career here as a dedicated veterinarian.

Dr. Wages’ calling to this profession came as a realization of God's plan for her life. Initially aspiring to be a surgeon, she discovered her passion for veterinary medicine, particularly in small animal medicine and surgery, during her undergraduate years.  To this day, Dr. Wages finds immense fulfillment in surgery, radiology, ultrasonography, CT scans, and tackling challenging cases and emergencies. 

Being a part of people's families is Dr. Wages’ favorite aspect of this job. Witnessing the milestones of individuals, from getting together, getting married, having kids, and experiencing the joy of having pets, is a privilege. Dr. Wages loves being part of the entire journey, from joyous beginnings to the inevitable farewells and new beginnings.

Outside of work, Dr. Wages interests include veterinary mission trips and training veterinary students. Dr. Wages keeps herself busy with a bustling Funny Farm that keeps her constantly occupied. Whether at home or at work, my days are filled with the joy of caring for animals.

In her personal life, Dr. Wages is part of a large and loving family with four siblings, amazing parents, three nephews, and two nieces. Her extended family includes an array of pets, such as Sam and Tilly the pigs, 13 dogs with unique stories, and a variety of other animals ranging from chickens to peacocks to rabbits.

Dr. Wages takes pride in contributing to the growth and excellence of Care First Animal Hospital through her role as Lead Veterinarian.  Dr. Wages opens the doors of Care First Animal Hospital at Oberlin once a month for spay/neuter day for Second Chance Pet Adoptions. Dr. Wages teaches students comprehensive physical exam and surgical skills. Dr. Wages orchestrates a group of volunteers and veterinary school students, and together they spay and neuter a number of dogs and cats annually.
