Dr. Samuel Good

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Samuel Good is an Associate Veterinarian at Care First Animal Hospital, who brings his passion for veterinary medicine to our practice.  His journey into the field began during his undergraduate years at the University of Tennessee, where he worked as a veterinary assistant at a mixed animal practice in Knoxville, TN, and gained valuable experience as an intern at the Knoxville Zoo.

Dr. Good's commitment to veterinary medicine continued through his tenure at the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. During his veterinary school years, he distinguished himself not only academically, but also through his extensive involvement with Christian Veterinary Missions. As Co-President of the student body, he organized a mission trip to Bolivia, providing essential veterinary services to underdeveloped communities. His dedication also took him to the Belize Zoo and rural communities in Northwestern Argentina, further broadening his experience and impact in the field.
Throughout his academic journey, Dr. Good contributed to various research projects, including studies on anaplasmosis prevalence in cattle, dairy cattle nutrition, the microbiome of sea turtles, and mercury contents in fish within The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Dr. Good's decision to pursue veterinary medicine stemmed from his desire to serve others, a calling he discovered during his college years. He finds great fulfillment in using his knowledge and skills to build relationships with clients and their pets, solving problems, and improving their lives through compassionate care.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Good leads a dynamic life as an avid ultimate frisbee player at a professional level. His love for the outdoors fuels his enthusiasm for activities such as backpacking, fishing, camping, diving, surfing, and exploring nature.

Dr. Good is Fear Free certified, ensuring that his approach to veterinary care prioritizes the emotional well-being of his patients. His dedication and excellence in oral surgery and dentistry were recognized with the UTCVM’s Excellence in Oral Surgery and Dentistry Award in 2024.
